Little Spider, Big Spider

I went out to check the water in the birdbath and found this little fellow. He was just sitting there, so I grabbed my camera to take a few pix.

Evidently, he felt threatened because he stood on his tiptoes and threw his rear end up in the air to appear bigger! Just amazing!

Ladybugs and Aphids

I took this pix of a shrub in front of our house when something caught my eye.

I found a ladybug which told me I was on the right track.

I looked until I found something that looked like this. They almost look like part of the plant, but they're not.

Here's a better pix. They're aphids. Can you see them? Look closely in the top left corner. You can see one upside down. You can see his eye and feet better in this pix.

Ladybugs eat aphids.

Things You Should Not Find In Your Home

The top two are of an Asian Camel Cricket that was in our kitchen sink! Actually, there were two in there. This was the biggest one. I took him out on the back stoop, and he was kind enough to sit still for me to snap a few pix.

I think the bottom two are of a wolf spider. I need to identify him. He was in the shower stall one morning! He was so big, he wouldn't fit in our bug catching jar. I had to use a paper plate and the globe off of my anniversary clock to catch him and take him outside. Luckily, I took a few pix of him before turning him lose. He was not the least bit interested is posing for me.
