Hebrews 12: 1-3

1Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

I love this quote. Something that reminds me of this is the story of Derek Redmond finishing his race in the 1992 Summer Olympics. He had an injury, but got up and limped along. His father got past security to get to him. At first Derek pushed him off when he put his arm around him, but when he realized that it was his father, he started crying. Derek finished that race, with his father by his side, and the crowd cheered him every limping step of the way. Makes me cry whenever I think of it. Can't tell it w/o a lump in my throat. The same is true with "Footprints."
